Jonathan Karamalikis Win APPT Grand Final in Sydney
Full Tilt Poker pro Jonathan Karamalikis aka “xMONSTERxDONGx” outlasted a field of 289 players to win the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Grand Final in Sydney, Australia over the weekend. The 22 year old online star from Adelaide, Australia received AUD $459,510, his biggest achievement ever, and bested one of the toughest final tables ever played on the APPT.
The impressive Full Tilt Poker Review final table included live poker Triple Crown winner Roland de Wolfe, Team PokerStars Pro member Daniel Negreanu, and former APPT champion Eddy Sabat. Negreanu, was the first to depart after running top pair into de Wolfe’s set of threes. He pocketed AUD $36,415for his ninth place finish.
With the win, Karamalikis became the fourth Full Tilt Referral Code consecutive Aussie to succeed in the APPT Grand Final. He also progressed into the top 10 of Australia’s record money list with over $1 million in live tournament earnings. Other top three Aussie money winners were Joe Hachem ($10,962,046), Antanas “Tony G” Guoga ($4,385,948), and Mel Judah ($3,238,391).
